Personality

Due to her experiences as the Supreme Pontiff and her later friendship with Index, she has become a cold and reserved woman, often seen as the proverbial ice queen. Always serious and lacking in humor, she has a reputation for being taciturn. During the battle for Index, when Touma questions why she didn’t kill him, she explains that it’s not a matter of choosing not to, but rather being unable to do so. This inability extends even to divine beings like Archangel Gabriel; despite the threat he posed to the world, Kanzaki could only serve as a distraction and hoped Touma would end the Angel Fall, as she herself could never bring herself to kill Gabriel.

However, her personality evolves over time. As with other members of Necessarius who have met Touma, she begins to show a softer side, becoming more expressive and emotionally open after Touma saves Index and helps her confront her past with the Amakusa-Style Remix of Church. She becomes more comfortable around others and occasionally displays awkwardness or embarrassment, especially when trying to thank Touma or during Tsuchimikado Motoharu's attempts to encourage her into cosplay for Touma. While she exhibits the behavior of a Yamato Nadeshiko—an idealized Japanese woman—outside of combat, her serious demeanor and speech resemble that of a Samurai. She is also depicted as innocent regarding sexuality, often struggling to understand Tsuchimikado's more daring suggestions.

Known as the "representative of the Necessarius dorms" due to her long residence and demeanor, she calms herself by assembling and then breaking a tower of tiles with a karate chop, a method that adds a touch of comedy to her otherwise serious nature. This soothing technique has only been necessitated by Tsuchimikado Motoharu’s stress-inducing antics.
